The Mission Statement of the Florida Certified Investigator program is to affirm the professionalism and credibility of the individual Florida Private Investigator. The program establishes high standards of knowledge in the practice of private investigations. The requirement of continuing education demands instruction in Professional Conduct and Ethics, Investigative Technique, Statutory Compliance and Investigative Legal Issues. Florida Certified Investigators elevate the standards for the industry.

In seeking and maintaining the FCI designation the investigator is making a commitment to be among the best in the profession and to continue their education. FCI investigators are making a statement to the public and their clients that they are committed to maintaining high standards for themselves and the profession. FCI investigators have worked hard to achieve experience and reputations for excellence and continue with these efforts through the Continued Education Requirements of the program. The designation of FCI is a much sought certification that the public can have faith in and the investigator can market either to client or employer.   The FCI certification program concentrates on the fields of:

Professional Conduct & Ethics.
Investigative Legal Issues
Investigative Techniques
Statutory Compliance

The FCI certification is obtained through the demonstration of:

A minimum of three years of practical investigative experience with at least one of those years as a Florida licensed investigator or in-house investigator not requiring licensure
Three professional letters of recommendation attesting to the investigative ability and suitability for certification
Successful completion of a written competency examination

The FCI certification is maintained by attending a minimum of twenty hours of continuing education every two years.
